Spring Style Trends 2018: Polka dots, western style and pastels!

I’m hesitant to say it’s springtime following the snowmageddon at the start of March and even though it’s now St Patrick’s Day, it’s still chilly out there!

But while it may still feel like winter outdoors, in sartorial terms we’re definitely well into spring.

There’s loads of gorgeous spring and summer clothing already in the shops and this year’s trends include a mash-up of polka dots, pastels and western style.

Let’s take a look at some of this year’s hot trends according to me, The Sunday Times Style magazine and other informed sources.

Polka dots

Who doesn’t love polka dots? They’re cute, feminine and way more fun than a boring plain blouse.

This polka dot knot front top is only €20 in the Topshop sale down from €40. Available in tall, petite and medium, sizes 8 to 16.

alt=

This frill flouncy wrap around blouse from H&M is another sale bargain, currently €13.99. Stick a camisole underneath for work or wear by itself for a night out.

alt=

Missguided have a seriously cute selection of polka dot items, from stylish co-ords, to dainty tea dresses and even polka dot sandals.

I’m not a big fan of the whole athleisure aesthetic or loungewear but I’m loving this polka tracksuit set.

The tracksuit top is currently 40% off and is now €26, while the joggers are €18.

alt=

Slip dresses look even more adorable with a polka dot print. This one is €30.

alt=

I think a polka dot print looks best in monochrome, however, there are loads of fun colourful options out there too.

Red, navy and blue with white polka dots are all great and pink with black polka dots is a classic!

This playsuit would look fab with a light wash denim jacket and black boots, ideal for a festival.

Western

I was watching Blazing Saddles last night so I had lots of inspiration for writing about this particular trend!

I was living for the inspo, from the Gucci saddlebag to the horse’s tack!

western

Don’t worry, I won’t be advising you to wear chaps or ten-gallon cowboy hats!

Think embroidered yokes on blouses, silver buckle details and fringing. All the fringing.

Again, another trend that you can incorporate into a festival outfit later in the year.

I’m a big fan of my trusty cowboy ankle boots, they go with everything, even the snow!

This little bag from Miss Selfridge is just gorgeous, €35 in stores but get it for about €28 if you buy in sterling from Asos.

alt=

While you can’t beat a Western ankle boot, these buckle heels from Asos are all kinds of cool.

I have a similar style of shoe from Penneys and they are one of the most versatile and comfy pairs of heels I’ve ever worn but they’re in bits now. These Asos ones are definitely going on my list!

alt=

And this little t-shirt is a great way to inject some wild west style into your outfit and still keep it casual.

alt=
Western t-shirt. Pic: Asos.com

I bought this little white t-shirt from Mango recently, it looks great with a denim shirt and only cost €7.

The classic western look of course, is a denim or leather jacket and some bitchin’ ankle boots.

These distressed Free People boots with oversized buckle are a dream but at €242, I’ll be looking for a (much) cheaper dupe.

alt=

River Island footwear is always on-trend and good quality, these suede and leather bad boys are only €65.

alt=

Throw on a jacket like this studded leather look beaut from Asos for €51 and you’re set.

Pastels

And now for a totally different look, pretty pastels in every shade of the rainbow.

Lilac continues to be popular again this spring, I’m loving this released hem lilac mini from River Island. €20 in sale at the moment.

alt=

This gorgeous linen mix suit from Mango is beautiful.

alt=

This long-sleeve colour-block pastel t-shirt is perfect for layering. €16 from Asos.com.

Pinafore dresses

I went through a phase of wearing these during college and I’m delighted to see them coming back again.

They suit all shapes and sizes and you can wear them anywhere.

alt=

Mix it up with faux leather and denim styles or keep it simple and chic. Cute AF.

Berets and baker boy caps

On the accessories front, berets and baker boy caps are still hugely popular. I still haven’t gotten a baker boy hat but I’m determined to be rocking one soon.

My beret below is from Nasty Gal. I was really impressed with the delivery, I got my order on a Saturday!

Hope you all enjoyed this post, trend posts are a favourite of mine.

FYI, this isn’t a sponsored post, all items displayed are my own personal choices.

Denim Daze: Why we should embrace the return of denim

When you think of denim clothing and accessories, what comes to mind?

B*witched at their finest? Line dancing? Or THAT iconic Britney and Justin outfit?

alt=
Name a more iconic duo I’ll wait. Pic: Tumblr.com
alt=

Aaliyah was too fab for that outfit. Pic: Tumblr.com

If that trip down memory lane is giving you denim-induced PTSD, I’m sorry. But denim is back and trust me it’s much better this time around.

Denim has been gracing the catwalks this season with everyone from Philip Lim to Victoria Beckham hopping on the bandwagon.

In my humble opinion, the safest way to work this trend is a statement accessory and keep the rest of your outfit simple.

This cute embellished one from Shein.com is only €17, total bargain!

alt=

If you prefer your denim with more attitude, then check out this dark denim “Not Your Babe” bag from Skinnydip.

alt=

Or if you want something much simpler, check out this light blue Miss Selfridge bucket bag, on sale from €40 to €21.

alt=

If you are looking for a Fenty X Puma dupe, then these denim trainers from Shein.com could be just the ticket. Currently reduced from €57 to €35.

alt=
Denim shoes. Pic: Shein.com

If I could wear a heel right now, I’d drop everything for these adorable yet versatile denim mules from Nasty Gal.

Fraying, floral embroidery and a low heel, they have it all! I would definitely be packing them in my suitcase for holidays if I could.

alt=

One of my favourite summer shoe brands has to be Soludos for their espadrilles. Soludos are available from Asos and Shopbop and while they are pricey, they appear to be good quality.

They’re significantly cheaper on Shopbop.com but I’m not sure how much delivery costs.

FYI, Asos is offering 20 percent off selected shoes at the moment.

I’m not a huge fan of all the denim heeled boots around, I think they look a bit trampy (Gabby from Love Island I’m talking to you).

Denim heels are hard to pull off but I do like these sandals from Nasty Gal, I think they’d be cute with a plain slip dress.

FYI, Nasty Gal are currently offering 50 percent off everything, including sale.

alt=
Denim frayed heels. Pic: NastyGal.com

If denim accessories aren’t for you, then you can’t beat the classics, like a statement denim jacket, shorts or a denim mini skirt.

I haven’t worn a denim mini in years but they are making a big comeback (Amber from Love Island knows what I mean) and these are a few I really like.

Inject some sass into your shorts, with an embellished pair like these fishnet layer ones from Topshop or this lace-up pair from Nasty Gal.

An embellished denim jacket is yet another item I have to add to my wardrobe.

I think this River Island one is probably the most festival-worthy item I’ve seen in a long time – what do you think?

alt=
Embellished denim jacket. Pic: River Island.com

I’m also completely crushing on these beauties, a Daisy Street medium blue denim jacket from Asos, a light blue denim with a graffiti style print from Nasty Gal and this perfect pink denim jacket with a frill embellishment.

UPDATE: I ordered the pink frill one but it’s very short and I prefer my denim jackets a lot looser. The colour was also more of a peach than pink so I returned it.

Hope you guys enjoyed this denim edit and are feeling inspired to introduce some more denim into your wardrobes. Let me know what you think – love it or leave it?

I hope to do a festival post soon and I’m off to Biarritz next month so I will have some holiday photos and hopefully, some outfit posts coming up.

Things are going much better for me, my ankle is finally healing so I’m very happy and relieved about that.

Thanks for reading as always and don’t forget to check out my Facebook pageInstagram and Twitter.

Bargain Hunt: The best of the summer sales under €30

Summer sale season is here and as I’m pretty much confined to the house, I’m fighting the urge to spend all my money online.

I think shopping the sales online often beats trawling through shops that are busy at the best of times and complete pandemonium during sale (e.g. Zara).

While you can’t try things on, have you ever faced changing rooms during sale? Not a pretty sight! These are some of my favourite items from the summer sales and everything is under €30.

Missguided

One item which caught my eye (and that of many stylish Instagrammers) is this white denim buckled skirt.

It’s reduced from €44 to €22 and would be perfect for a sun holiday abroad. I’ve ordered this and it still hasn’t arrived … beginning to think it is lost! Anyway I’ll keep you posted on the fit.

alt=

I’m equally taken with the light blue version which is now €27, reduced from €44. (I have no idea why the blue one is €5 more btw).  It also comes in navy and black, for those of you who prefer a darker hue.

alt=
Blue denim buckled skirt

Asos

If you’re heading to a festival this year, then hit up Asos’s sale before you go. The Asos sale is the perfect place to get yourself a festival bargain like these cut-out shorts.

Featuring a funky lolly pop applique on the back, they’re bound to keep you feeling summery even if it’s chucking it down in Stradbally/Marlay Park/delete as appropriate.

These come in at €28/£21. I’m sure I don’t need to remind regular readers but buy in sterling from Asos, click here to find out why.

Another festival-worthy pick are these cute lilac shorts reduced from €37 to €26 – just don’t get them filthy!

PS- Asos don’t have a sale banner or sale section on their site anymore but these items are still available and reduced- you just have to search by description.

alt=

New Look

One spring trend I absolutely loved was chinoiserie/ jacquard prints. I’m on the lookout for a backpack in this print and can’t decide between these two New Look beauties.

The larger one is now €20, reduced from €29.99 and the cute mini one is €17, reduced from €24.99.

PLT

I spotted these unusual pink cracked vinyl trousers over on PLT and I think they are awesome. They don’t look like something you would find on PLT and are a real statement piece. €20, reduced from €39.

alt=

Another deadly PLT bargain is this bright pink swimsuit which is quite similar to Kylie J’s infamous Body Glove swimsuit. Reduced from €25 to €11.

alt=

Zara

Now away from the crazy colours to a classic black bargain from Zara. This cute little dress with lace-up sleeves is now €29.99 down from €49.95.

alt=

And how about this denim and gingham skirt for only €9.99??

alt=

Bershka

I recently bought these cute espadrilles in the Bershka sale, although I can only wear the left one at the moment. Reduced from €19.99 to €9.99.

alt=

Another great Bershka bargain is this bleached denim jacket reduced from €39.99 to €17.99. (I need to stop talking about festivals now… I’m so jealous I can’t go to Longitude!)

alt=

River Island

River Island always has adorable PJ’s and underwear but they can be pricey. Embrace your inner Ariel with this adorable seashell detail bra and briefs. These are both about a third of the original price with the bra reduced from €22 to €8 and the knickers down from €17 to €4.

I’m also loving this tropical palm print underwear set, again the bra is €8 and briefs €4 – Penneys prices!

Hope you guys enjoyed this bargain-busting post – I love hunting down bargains to share with you!

I’m off to flex my debit card, so leave me a comment below and let me know if you liked any of the items I featured.

PS- this is not a sponsored post.

I often post bargains I find over on my Facebook page, so if you want to see more of the same give it a like. You can find me here on Instagram and Twitter would love to connect with other Irish bloggers on there. Thanks for reading as always and I’ll be back soon with a new post – possibly a festival one, watch this space.

Baywatch and bad tan lines: 10 of 2017’s hottest swimsuits

Fun fact about me: I learned to swim at the age of 24 after being terrified of water for 16 years. Nowadays I’m still not the best swimmer but I’m hoping that I will have sufficiently recovered from my injury to allow a dip in the ocean on holidays.

Every year I write a swimwear post and it’s always one of my most popular annual posts, so this year I’m going to do two. This post will be dedicated to one-piece swimsuits and I’ll have another on bikinis coming soon.

I’m loving the denim/chambray trend that’s everywhere at the moment and I have a particular soft spot for this denim-effect swimsuit from Vavavoom.ie. I love the lace-up side details and scoop back also and at €26.99, it’s a pretty good price for a swimsuit. Vavavoom offer next day delivery to the UK and Ireland for €2.99 which is pretty awesome!

UPDATE: I ordered this and it was not flattering on me. It’s definitely not for anyone bigger than a B-cup, it squashed my boobs flat!

alt=

Oh, I loved this River Island one-piece initially. It beckoned me in all it’s green iridescent glory..then I realised it had a thong back. Nothing wrong with that but not for me. If I were 18 and going to Magaluf then maybe 😛

alt=
Green swimsuit. Pic: River Island.com

Despite this I still love RI swimwear, just look at this bandana print one-piece.

alt=

It’s safe to say, Zara swimwear is never anything short of glorious, can we please take a minute for this beautiful purple floral one-piece with cross-over straps?

alt=

Zara is embracing the Baywatch trend with these incredible Baywatch-themed swimsuits, I really want one!

Penneys had an amazing red Baywatch-style suit at the start of the year for only €6 but there must have been some issue with it as it disappeared from my local Penneys never to be seen again. *sobs quietly*

UPDATE: I tracked it down in Primark in Newry for £4 so that’s part of my summer swimwear sorted.

It will look great with my orthopaedic boot, I just know it…

Side-ties are one of the biggest swimwear trends this summer and although they’re bound to lead to weird tan lines/burn marks I love them.

This gorgeous pink swimsuit from Pretty Little Thing comes in at just under €25.

alt=

For a Versace look on a Primark budget, check out this black one-piece with gold chain straps. It’s only €27 from Pretty Little Thing, what are you waiting for?! It was out of stock for ages but I’ve managed to find one. Also available in white.

Metallics look amazing in summer and every time I’ve passed by &OtherStories‘ window on Grafton Street, I’m drawn to this gorgeous shiny silver swimsuit.

At €49 it’s quite expensive but a cheaper alternative is this iridescent purple swimsuit from Missguided for just under €34. Perfect for the all the mermaid wannabes out there!

I hope you all enjoyed this post and are looking forward to the next installation. I really love swimwear despite not going away that often.

I’m looking forward to bringing you the bikini post and until then check out my Pinterest swimwear board for more inspiration.

Hope you all enjoyed this post, leave me a comment below and let me know.

Flat shoe frolics

I’m currently laid up with a broken ankle after an accident involving a seven-foot fall off a ladder onto concrete. This was followed by a 13 hour wait in A & E and a five day wait for surgery to put me back together.

But I’ll stop the “woe-is-me” diatribe now… I’m very lucky that it wasn’t a lot worse!

The day before my accident, I was enjoying myself browsing summer shoes in town.

From sliders to espadrilles to trainers, there are so many cute flat shoes available at the moment. So although I won’t be wearing two shoes for quite some time, here’s a post on summer shoes for all you lucky people with two working ankles.

Espadrilles

Espadrilles are Spanish for summer (maybe that’s not true) and they are always a staple in my summer wardrobe.

Penneys have some really nice espadrilles right now in gingham, denim and tropical prints.

However, I tried on a denim pair and my normal size didn’t fit right or feel very comfortable. If you are looking for long-lasting espadrilles, maybe give Penneys a miss.

alt=
Tropical print and gingham espadrilles. Pic: Primark.com

Asos shoes are generally good quality and I love these black espadrilles scattered with tiny plastic flowers.

At €56, they are pricey but check out my online shopping hacks post for tips on getting a discount.

alt=
Embellished espadrilles. Pic: Asos.com

Asos stock Soludos espadrilles which are one of my favourite summer shoe brands.

You can even buy two packs of Asos’ own brand espadrilles from Asos if you really really love your espadrilles!

You can buy espadrilles with a slight wedge for a bit of height or lace-up styles but I like the simple slip-on flat style the best.

alt=
Soludos denim espadrilles. Pic: C21.com

For the perfect summer holiday espadrilles it has to be this pair from Bershka.

alt=
Bershka espadrilles. Pic: Bershka.com

I love the nautical stripes and adorable gold design, I can almost see myself strolling the sands of Biarritz in them. Life consists of hopping on crutches and lying down right now…

Runners

I love finding comfy runners in cute summery shades, the day before my accident I bought pastel blue suede trainers from Penneys.

The material makes them look more expensive than their very purse-friendly price tag of €15. They are also available in pink.

alt=

Several pairs of runners caught my eye in Penneys including this holographic silver pair, also only €15.

alt=
Silver trainers. Pic: Primark.com

If I said “denim shoes”, you’d probably reply with “Get the fuck out” but bear with me. Denim shoes are having a moment. Take these cute embellished runners from Missguided, for example.

alt=
Embroidered denim runners. Pic: Missguided.com

They are also available in white and I’m a big fan. Embellishment isn’t just for jackets, you know!

alt=
White embellished trainers. Pic: Missguided.com

Sliders

Sliders are absolutely HUGE this summer, there is no escaping them.

I’m not sold on all the fluffy styles that seem to be very popular but there are some that I do like.

alt=
Fluffy sliders from the River Island High Summer press day

I know for a fact my amazing orthopaedic surgeon would wince at these silver backless sliders and I probably won’t be wearing them any time soon but how cute are they?

alt=
Silver frill sliders. Pic: Bershka.com

I also like these white ones featuring a lip design from Missguided.

alt=

If you aren’t already following O-Mighty/OmWeekend on Insta, then you need to get following, their denim sliders are UNREAL.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BTwYKrRDXgF/?taken-by=omweekend

They also have adorable satin sliders in oriental prints, one of this summer’s biggest trends.

Frill details and western-style buckles are really popular slider trends this summer.

Sandals

I personally don’t like flip-flops very much and will always go for a pair of sandals where possible.

I know this post is already overloaded with denim shoes but I love these denim bow Miss KG sandals from Topshop.

alt=

To be honest, most of these sandals are just pimped slides.

Mango have an amazing range of summer slides and sandals this year, check out these lilac slip-on beauts with frayed details and these flower applique sandals.

alt=

alt=
Floral sandals. Pic: Mango.com

It’s hard to finish this post because there are so many gorgeous shoes I would love to include in it!

For now, stylish footwear (and any kind of style) will be taking a back seat in my life. I’m currently hobbling around in a giant orthopaedic boot, taking precarious showers perched on a stool and taking an assortment of painkillers everywhere I go.

Hope you all enjoyed this post, leave me a comment below and let me know.

Wardrobe Transitions – Spring to Summer

Is your wardrobe overflowing but you still find yourself wearing the same jeans and jumper combos over and over again?

It’s said we wear 20% of our wardrobe 80% of the time and I’m definitely guilty of  this. At work, I’m usually wearing a pair of black jeans or black leather trousers and a blouse and at the weekend, I’m in blue jeans and a jumper or my PJ’s…

I have so many other items in my wardrobe that don’t get rotated often so on Easter Sunday I decided to wear something slightly different.

The weather was nice and I found a pair of Levi’s cut-off’s I’d bought for €2 in a charity shop over winter.

I rummaged around for a pair of black tights and added my Guns ‘n’ Roses band t-shirt, River Island boots and my satin blue bomber jacket.

Voila, I had a really cute outfit which didn’t suit the occasion theme whatsoever but at least it wasn’t a jumper and jeans!

alt=

A brown belt, simple black choker and my pretty floral bag from Spitalfields Market completed the look.

I liked this outfit so much that I wore it again the next day with runners when I was at the National Botanic Gardens.

alt=

Not only do I wear the same clothes over and over (#outfitrepeater) but I also tend to use the same handbag even though I own approximately 20 bags.

Although I really just want to be Stormzy’s mum and have 100 bags… (Stormzy fans will know what I’m on about!)

Shoes are the same, I own a crazy amount of shoes and boots, yet I’m always in one of two pairs of runners. My boots looked way better with this outfit and suited the outfit “theme” more.

Was there ever a less Easter-y outfit?!

ALT=

It got me thinking how many other items are in my wardrobe that I could wear more often? At this time of the year, it’s a good idea to reassess what’s in your wardrobe.

These are some my favourite items for this time of the year.

1. Leather jacket

Stylish, practical and a plain black one is always fashionable. My one is floral and loud however…

alt=

2. Ghillie shoes or loafers

Time to let your feet breathe. I was bravely wearing loafers in January like an idiot yet I have barely worn them outside the office in the past few months.

3. A gilet

You can begin retiring your bulkier jackets and use gilets to stay cosy during the chilly spring evenings.

4. White jeans

White jeans are the ultimate summery look and although they’re a pain in the arse to keep clean, they are a really simple wardrobe update.

5. Patterned trousers or jeans

Leave your blue and black jeans aside and try a patterned pair or a different colour for a change.

6. Shorts or skirts with black tights

It’s definitely mild enough to get your cute shorts and skirts out of the wardrobe and dress them up with boots or go casual with your favourite runners.

7. Printed playsuit or jumpsuit

These are a perfect alternative to your jeans, you can wear tights with a playsuit until it gets properly warm.

8. Camisoles over a plain white long sleeve top.

This is one of my favourite outfit looks and recently I’ve been layering dressy tops that I used to keep for nights out over a white top for a cute casual look at home or at work.

9. Suede jacket

If you don’t have a leather jacket, a suede jacket is perfect for a spring/summer evening cover-up. I love this brown fringe one from Tola Vintage, great for festivals.

I’ve decided to add a total at the end of my outfit posts to let you know exactly how much my thrifty outfits really cost.

This one was a little more expensive as the boots are real leather but overall it is still quite good value.

Outfit Cost

Belt- Charity shop €1.

Shorts- Charity shop €2.

Jacket- Gifted from @bomberjacketgirls.

Boots- €45 on sale from €90 River Island.

Choker- €3.50 for set of two in Penneys.

Tights- €2 Penneys.

Bag- £12/€14 Spitalfields Market.

T-shirt- £15/€18 Missguided.

Total= €85.50.

PS- the jacket was a gift but I’m not being paid to promote it.

Hope you guys liked this look and the tips on transitional dressing. Leave me a comment below and let me know.

An injection of FUN: The latest S/S ’17 trends

Gingham, pink, embellished jackets and oriental prints: all kinds of whimsical and fun trends are in fashion this spring.

While I was out shopping for graduation dresses, I got quite distracted by all the new trends in town and thought I’d do a post to share them with you.

By the way, there’s a grand stretch in the evenings altogether!

One trend I really love so far is gingham. Particularly if it comes in the shape of a bardot top or has a few frills on it.

I can get on board with a head-to-toe ensemble either. Yaasss.

alt=

These Topshop gingham blouses are great for casual wear or dressy occasions.

Blue, pink or red gingham and simple gingham sundresses are also cute.

alt=>

Gingham looks great layered over plain colours or as a contrast to a white or black t-shirt.

gingham dress

Let’s observe the fact  that even Christian Louboutin created a pair of country gal style gingham Louboutins.

alt=

Oriental prints are another huge trend this spring also. I’m a big fan of this royal blue backpack from New Look and pink high heel sandals from River Island.

alt=
Pink oriental print sandals. Pic: River Island.com

This backpack is €24.99 and also comes in pink.

alt=

These Kimchi Blue dresses from Urban Outfitters are also really adorable and perfect for summer.

Oriental prints are notoriously difficult to wear so try a simple accessory like this Shein wallet if you don’t want to go overboard.

alt=

But if you do want to go all out check O-Mighty’s cute co-ord sets.

Bright pink is a really popular colour this spring, especially in co-ords, jackets and oversized jumpers.

This little pink suede biker from New Look is a great transitional piece.

alt=
Pink suede jacket.

I love the contrast of the red embroidered letters against the bright pink background on this Bershka jumper.

alt=<Bershka-pink-sweater>

Bershka is your destination for all things pink and cosy, I’m also tempted by these goodies.

How cute is this little pink Shein t-shirt with a cactus detail?

alt=

Finally, embellished denim and leather jackets are everywhere this spring. Think lace-ups, patches, floral and slogans.

I absolutely love these and need at least one in my life!

This denim jacket with black lace-up ties running up the sleeves and across the back is amazing. #need

alt=

I’m a massive Tove Lo fan so this Junkyard slogan jacket really appeals to me.

alt=

As frequent readers know I love a good Etsy original and it’s definitely the best place to find a one-of-a-kind jacket.

The skull jacket is from Corazon Beats on Etsy and the desert scene jacket is from LivingRoomCompany.

And when I win the lottery, I’ll be off to buy this Gucci denim beauty.

alt=<embroidered jacket>

If you prefer leather jackets, you’ll like these embellished styles from Bershka and Forever 21.

What do you think of these spring trends? Do you have a favourite? Leave me a comment and let me know.

P.S. I finally bought myself a camera so look forward to some more outfit posts and more of my own style on here. It’s something I’ve wanted to introduce to the site for a long time.

FYI- this post was not sponsored or endorsed by any brands mentioned.

I will conclude this spring-themed post with some adorable baby ducks because we all need those in our lives.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and don’t forget to check out my InstagramTwitter and Facebook page here.

Thanks for reading as always.

Bargain Alert: Nasty Gal’s 70% off liquidation sale

You may have heard that Nasty Gal have gone bankrupt and they are about to be taken over by Boohoo.com.

It’s surprising to see the site go bust considering they once pulled in $85 million in revenue.

Nasty Gal’s entrepreneurial founder and self-titled #Girlboss, Sophia Amoruso seemed like she could do no wrong at one point.

Her book #Girlboss topped bestseller lists and there’s even talk of a Netflix show based on her life.

But every cloud has a silver lining and this one comes in the form of a 70% off everything sale, (including previous sale items) as the company scrambles to offload their stock.

Here’s a few of the bargains available but you’ll have to be quick, the stock is flying out!

This gorgeous vintage style top was €109 but is only €32.70 with discount. It’s still available in sizes M-XL.

It’s a real statement piece and would be ideal for a special occasion.

This sheer glittery blouse was already  reduced to €54 so it’s only  €16.20 with discount.

This is still available in L and XL.

This lace crop top with floral tattoo appliques is the stuff of dreams.

Unfortunately for me, it’s only left in a XS.

€18.30 with discount, pretty damn sweet!

Nasty Gal have lots of sexy styles but also some really cool bohemian stuff like this pretty peasant blouse.

This is still available in a size small and is less than a tenner!

If you’re a size 7 and looking for some statement ankle boots, then these Rosa boots are just what you need.

These are a third of the original price, only €46.50 right now. However, there’s only size 7 left. *sobs quietly*

Oxblood lace up leggings.

I think these lace-up leggings would be hard to pull off but I do love the style.

These are €30.30 in final sale and only left in XS. They’re also left in a cream colour but I think they’d be even harder to pull off!

alt=
Studded jacket. Pic: Nastygal.com

This studded denim jacket is very festival-friendly and less than €20!

You’d be hard pressed to find anything under €20 in Nasty Gal’s heyday…

This is only left in S.

FYI, there are NO returns or exchanges on any of the items. The 70% discount is applied at the checkout.

Be aware that a lot of items listed on the site are sold out already and when I clicked on several available items, it said only 1 or 2 left.

Standard shipping is €14.95 to Ireland.

Many of labels stocked on Nasty Gal will be still available elsewhere, i.e. Lavish Alice, Glamorous, Jaded London all have their own sites so it’s not the end of the road for these brands.

It’ll be interesting to see what direction Boohoo will take, will they completely reinvent it or try to recreate Amoruso’s magic formula?

Did you shop from Nastygal? Are you sorry to see it go? Leave me a comment below and let me know.

PS- this isn’t a sponsored post.

UPDATE: The sale is now over but the new site had been launched with loads of new stock. Let me know what you guys think of the new look – personally I think it’s very similar to PLT and Missguided.

The Colour Purple

Have you noticed all the lilac and purple hues this Spring? I love this colour and it’s everywhere from jumpers to lipsticks to wallets.

Last weekend I was in Belfast (more on that soon!) and I bought this pretty Topshop lilac ruffled jumper.

Not only was it a complete bargain, £15 in sale, €42 full price but it also combines another spring trend, ruffles! I’ll be wearing this blue jeans or with black leather-look trousers to work.

Excuse my face, I was a little hungover!

FYI, the sizing of this jumper was really off, I got a 6 which would normally be too small for me in a jumper but the 8 felt too tight!

I also picked up this lilac quilted wallet in Penneys for about £4.

It’s very similar to the Skinnydip wallets and matches this bag.

I may have to get the bag too!

I already own a *few* pastel purple pieces..

Warning: lilac runners are as impractical as white ones!

Super jealous of Kate Moss strutting her stuff in this pastel Chanel outfit.

Recently I even bought a lilac lippie and was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. I find pink/purple shades can make your teeth look a little yellow but I really wanted to try it out.

This “Charm” lipstick was about €2 from Bershka. If you want to try an unusual lip colour, go for a cheap lipstick in case you hate it!

I’ve been looking for a dress to wear to my graduation and I’m very drawn towards lilac and pink. This Missguided dress is currently reduced from €60 to €15 in sale – OMG!

These skinny cigarette trousers would be great to liven up a work outfit, €12 from Missguided.

It’s a bit early for pajama shorts but how cute is this set ?

Finally I’m in love with this Topshop mesh t-shirt, it looks great layered over a black or white top.

I don’t know but I’ve never had a pair of Converse yet. This “Frozen Lilac” style is just calling my name right now.

If you don’t like a lot of pastel colours, then an accessory like this beanie hat is ideal for just a splash of purple perfection.

Do you guys like lilac and pastel colours? Let me know, I’d love to hear your opinions.

N.B. I’m not being sponsored or paid by any of the brands featured here-these are all my personal choices.

All about that waist

Accentuating the waist is one of fashion’s most tried and tested formulas. But chunky waist belts went out in 2007 and no-one rational would entertain a waist trainer! Enter the corset belt, the sexy and not-so-subtle waist cincher.

Beloved by Bella Hadid, Rihanna and the Kardashian klan, the latest reincarnation of the corset belt has many celebrity fans.

Corset belts were last seen back when The Pussycat Dolls had a hit and the aforementioned group were probably responsible for their demise.

The girls were known for their lingerie inspired outfits!

However, corset belts don’t have to be trashy. Back in 2011, Alexander McQueen created this beauty, the grandaddy of all corset belts.

Designers such as Manish Aurora and Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini have given the corset belt a 2017 twist with their own unique interpretations of the trend.

The corset belt can be worn multiple ways, over a over-sized t-shirt, a plain shirt, a jumper or a dress.

Although many celebrities have chosen to amp up the sex factor by wearing it with a long t-shirt and knee high boots, personally I prefer it with a casual outfit.

This blue denim corset belt from Bershka is ideal for layering over a jumper dress or t-shirt.

This Rare London black belt has a corset detail in front but plain on the reverse, perfect for daywear.

Boohoo.com even have a two-in-one corset belt and t-shirt dress for only €20!

This black leather look belt is one of my favourite corset belts and is currently only €14 on Boohoo.com.

If the Goth/vamp vibe isn’t your thing, try a white or cream belt and pair it with cotton or denim. The high street corset belts are usually about €15 but if you want to try a DIY one, here’s a simple tutorial.

I’ll definitely be trying out this trend, after all it beats going on a diet! Do you like corset belts or do you think they are overrated? Leave me a comment below and let me know.
