Autumn/Winter 2018 trends: Logos, Animal Prints and Checks

It’s starting to feel autumnal out there so what better time to start planning my autumn/winter wardrobe?

After this year’s heatwave, it feels like we really did have a summer for once but autumn is definitely on the way now.

All the shops are stocked with autumnal clothes and these are some of the trends you’ll see everywhere on the high street and the catwalk this A/W.

Logos

I blame Fendi and the Kardashian family for this one but logos are back with a bang.

They went completely out of fashion for a while as they were associated with a tacky early 00s look but the logo has been resuscitated and reinvented.

It’s a sartorial throwback to those heady pre-recession days where the only way to let everyone know you had style/money was to plaster yourself with logos.

Think Kylie Jenner pushing Stormi in THAT Fendi pram and you get the idea.

alt=
Kylie and Stormi (is she even in that pram?!)

If Fendi is a tad outside your budget, you’ll find plenty of logo-embossed looks on the high street.

Pretty Little Thing does Dior vibes with this saddle-shaped bag.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the price of this bag online but I’m sure it’s not expensive.

alt=< Saddle-shaped logo bag>

If you’re heading away before the end of summer, these funky logo sliders would look great poolside and are just €22.

alt=

A cute cover-up from those colder days comes in the form of this black jacquard jumper from Zara. It’s €29.95 and comes in small, medium and large.

alt=

And those want to go with the all-over look, this bodycon unitard from Motel will definitely turn heads, ideal for all the festival girlos going to EP. It’s €49.

alt=

I think the key to pulling off the logo look is picking a neutral colour (black, brown, white, cream) and either opting for one all-over piece or an accessory.

Animal print

Animal print is always one of my favourite looks and although some may feel it’s too loud or trashy looking, there’s a lot to be said for a striking print.

Go bold in leopard or pick a dainty print for a more reserved look.

This slip dress can be thrown over a long sleeve-t-shirt and black tights, the perfect transitional outfit. It’s €42 from Motel.

alt=

If you’re not a fan of the traditional leopard print, there are other beasts in the jungle to take your inspiration from this A/W.

These python print jeans from Zara are €39.95.

alt=

Nasty Gal is always a great place to find on-trend pieces and I’m loving these zebra and leopard print bodysuits.

These would look great with blue or black denim and can be dressed up or down.

These both come in at an affordable €23 each.

And for those who dare, coloured animal print is everywhere and in my opinion worth a try.

This New Look skirt would look great with a black polo neck, black tights and ankle boots.

Checks, tweeds and plaids (again)

Every autumn without fail, some version of “heritage” aka checks, tweeds and plaids, hit the runway.

If you read my last post, you’ll know the Clueless look will be massive this autumn and I’ll be damned if I don’t get to dress up as Cher Horowitz.

alt=

This gorgeous bag caught my eye while browsing in & Other Stories yesterday.

At €79, it’s not a bargain item but I am really lusting after it!

alt=<Check bag & Other Stories>

I’m not much of a fan of midi-length skirts but the colour combo of this Bershka one is really cool. It’s also wallet-friendly, coming in at just under €20.

alt=<check midi skirt>

I’m also here for these paperbag waist check trousers from Zara, €49.95.

alt= <Blue check trousers>

Pinafore dresses

This trend has been around most of the year but swap your denim pinny for a cord one for extra warmth and bonus 60s vibes this autumn.

I love pinafores as I adore anything girly and cute but you can toughen them up with a biker jacket, doc martens or an oversized denim jacket.

Below, I’m wearing a black cord pinafore from H&M with a Kodak logo tee also from H&M.

This burgundy pinafore comes in at just under €50 from Asos.

alt=

If that’s out of your price range, Penneys have a very similar style for €15.

alt=

The loose shift style is most flattering on the tall and skinny gals but I prefer a more fitted pinafore that gives me a bit of a waist.

This teal green beauty from Nasty Gal is slightly more streamlined and is €45.

alt=

With a pinafore dress, it’s always better to wear layers underneath it and a light jacket on top, as heavy jumpers and hoodies just look bulky.

Scarf prints

Now, this is a trend I can never get enough of. Loud, in-your-face silky scarf prints look amazing on a dress or blouse.

Zara has really done this trend justice, with this gorgeous pleated skirt and matching bomber jacket.

Do yourself a favour and check out their autumn/winter “Retro Aesthetics” lookbook – it is stunning.

alt=<scarf-print-bomber-jacket-and-skirt>

Both pieces are €49.95 each.

A more demure look is this delicate chain print blouse also from Zara for €29.95.

alt=<Chain print blouse>

This Nasty Gal bodysuit is sure to make everyone green with envy (ha, ha) and is only €30.

alt=

And for something dressy and a little more unusual, look no further than this amazing Asos Design playsuit.

It’s a real statement piece and if you shop in sterling you can nab it for just under €47.

Hope you all enjoyed this trend post and leave me a comment to let me know what you think.

I’m really pleased to have made the longlist for Best Personal Fashion Blog category in the Blog Awards Ireland and I’m hoping to make the shortlist this year.

Scarlet Lady: Autumn/Winter Trends 2017

It’s been a long time since I wrote a trend post and I’m really excited about this one. Having been laid up with an injury all summer, the summer trends pretty much passed me by in a blur.

I think all Irish fashionistas love autumn/winter fashion because we know we’ll always get a lot more wear out of it. A harsh reality of our climate!

Once my ankle got stronger and I was back at work one of the first things I did was walk around the city centre and visit the shops.

Might seem sad to some but I really missed window shopping and checking out the new season trends. Have a browse at some of my favourite A/W pieces in stores now.

Red

From crimson to scarlet, various shades of red are everywhere this Autumn/Winter.

Red isn’t a traditional autumn/winter colour but most people can pull it off. I haven’t worn red in years but I’m excited to add some to my A/W wardrobe.

If like me, you’re a bit cautious when it comes to red, then one key accessory is a good way to go. I love these Stradivarius boots and they’re only €29.95 – bargain!

alt=<red-ankle-boots>

Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be back in my heels for quite some time…

If you want something a bit more daring, you can’t go wrong with these high-shine PVC Topshop boots. PVC is huge this autumn winter also so go forth and shine!

alt=

alt=
I love this styling

Gucci slogan dupe t-shirts are everywhere at the moment and this red River Island one is amazing.

It’s from the plus size range and is available in sizes 18-26.

alt=

This red Gucci-style embroidered bag from Stradivarius is all kinds of fab – I bought it in black and it’s one of my favourite bags yet.

I always get loads of compliments on it and was it only €19.99.

My love for biker jackets knows no end and I’m determined to get a red one this autumn.

Check out this patent biker beaut which is €68 from Missguided.

alt=

Pearl embellishment

This is probably my favourite trend this A/W.

alt=<pearl-choker>

I’ve already succumbed to this trend – see above my choker from Penneys.

Other personal faves these AMAZING pearl studded boots from &OtherStories, these pink and black Topshop clutches and a Penneys denim jacket with pearl embellishment.

alt=

This adorable pearl embellished beret is from Nasty Gal – I really like that the pearls are securely fastened in, not just sewn on.

Piercing embellishment

This is a really cool trend, with everything from jumpers to bags sporting what look like nipple rings and barbells!

This little backpack is from Penneys, FYI.

alt=

I think these embellishments look particularly good on a chunky jumper.

alt=

Topshop has nailed the punk look with this denim jacket and skirt set with all-over piercing embellishment. Probably not an outfit for the airport…

alt=

Denim skirts

Ok bear with me, I know it’s September but the denim skirt will still be an A/W wardrobe staple.

We’ve been wearing denim skirts with bare legs all summer but you can still rock a denim skirt with boots and black tights.

Plain denim is out with sequins and fishnet diamond details taking centre stage at Topshop this A/W – perfect for all your autumn nights out.

For something a little simpler, check out this contrast panel stretch denim skirt from PLT at Asos – so cute!

alt=

Lace-up denim skirts are impracticality at its finest – but I can’t help liking them all the same.

An example of something I really like but wouldn’t be quite brave enough to wear!

alt=

Checks/Tweeds

If I’m honest I think this trend is a tad dull but at the same time, a brown tweed/check blazer is a great alternative to boring black for work.

It all depends on how you style it!

This long wool masculine style wool coat from Bershka looks great over a more casual outfit.

alt=

Zara is definitely the place to go if you’re looking for a tailored piece, this double-breasted blazer is really cool.

alt=

For a slightly different take on the neverending heritage trend, try these high-waisted trousers from Topshop. The cropped cut and red thread through the middle gives them a modern twist.

PVC

Not one for the faint-hearted but I do have a serious love of all things PVC. These Jourdan Dunn for Missguided Londunn trousers are super cool.

alt=

For an equally bold look, there’s always PVC red leggings.

I think I’d feel like such a rockstar in these ones from Bershka, I could almost forget about my ankle!

alt=

Another high-shine piece I’m loving are these sassy little shorts with scallop details from Missguided.

Gorgeous for a night out and they come in gold and turquoise too – what more could you want?

Hope you’ve enjoyed this post- I certainly had fun “researching” and writing it.

Leave me a comment and let me know which A/W trend is your favourite.

Bargain Bonanza: My Sale Shopping Picks

There’s only one cure for the post-Christmas blues: online shopping and hot whiskey. 😛 I’m currently lying in bed feeling very sick and sorry for myself so what better time to browse the best sale bargains?

Missguided is offering up to 75% off sale items. FYI if you have a holiday booked, their swimwear is massively reduced right now. Go forth and shop…

They also have some gorgeous dresses in sale, from causal slip dresses to more glamorous styles. New Year’s Eve outfit dilemmas sorted!

This 2-in 1 leopard camisole dress is reduced from €37.50 to €18.75, great for casual wear.

alt=

This black cold shoulder dress is a new twist on the classic slip dress. It’s reduced from €42 to €16.80.

alt=

For a New Year’s outfit, I love this Balmain-esque floral red dress.

It has all the Balmain details with zip front and black piping but has a more affordable price tag! This was €105 but now just €42.

alt=< Missguided zip through dress>

Asos is offering up 50% off sale items. Among the shoes I’m lusting after are these own brand silver loafers, €16, reduced from €27.

alt=

Another own brand bargain are these studded black flats. At only €22 now, they will be ideal for spring. They were €38 full price.

alt=< black studded flats>

Daisy Street is one of my favourite footwear brands available on Asos, they have amazing statement ankle boots including these two-tone snakeskin beauties. These are reduced from €47 to €27.33.

alt=< ankle boots>
Two tone snakeprint ankle boots.

I’m a big fan of Zara jeans as they are quite hard-wearing and a good fit. They have lots funky styles in sale from grungy paint-spattered jeggings to pink mom fit jeans.

These are all reduced from €29.95 to €19.95. Word of advice, Zara tends to stagger their reductions so these may go down further in price if you can wait.

Denim-lovers will also appreciate these Zara shirts. These are reduced to €39.99 from €49.95. Still relatively pricey but may be reduced further.

Pretty Little Thing is offering up to 50% off sale items at the moment.

They have some beautiful sequin playsuits and dresses if you’re looking for a little sparkle this New Year’s.

One thing to note about PLT’s sale is that an item may be reduced in one colour but not in another.

For example, the sequin playsuit is reduced from €42 to €16.80 in green, silver and gold but a multi-colour version is still full-price. The premium sequin dress is reduced from €70 to €42.

They also have statement bombers and cute accessories like this chain detail bag and multi-colour scarf. The purple bomber is now 50% off (was €49, now €24), the scarf is €8.40 (was €11.25) and the bag €21 down from €31.

River Island have some great discounts on winter coats at the moment. The cream puffer is half price at €60 and both the brown and pink coats are marked down from €95 to €45.

For sale shopping tips, check out my previous post and for online sale shopping hacks and discounts click here. I’ve rounded up some of the prices as decimal points frustrate me. 😛

Remember to check the returns policy, it will save you a lot of hassle. I recently attempted returning a full-price choker to Forever 21 only to find they don’t accept returns on jewellery.

It was in perfect condition, still in packaging and the receipt was in date! *shakes fist*

I hope you all had a good Christmas and have a lovely New Year also. Do you love or loathe sale shopping? Leave me a comment below.

PS- these are all my personal choices, I didn’t receive any payment or incentive to promote these brands. Thanks for reading as always and don’t forget to check out my InstagramTwitter and Facebook page here.

Wrapping up warm:OOTD at Dublin Zoo

What’s the only thing better than clothes? Why clothes and cute animals of course!

A trip to Dublin Zoo in December calls for a practical and warm outfit. Some colour co-ordination is vital also of course.

You may have seen this pink jacket with fur collar in my previous posts and on my social media. I’ve been obsessing about it for so long and finally bought it in Asos’s Black Friday sale.

zoo-ootd-2

Of course I had to pair with some Penneys accessories. Well half this outfit is Penneys actually…

My  khaki green hat has a pink rose embroidered on the side which matched my coat and bag perfectly. As for the houndstooth scarf, about 2/3 of the female population own this by now… If you’re reading this, you too are probably wearing it!

alt=

Both the hat and scarf are from Penneys and were €5 each. My trusty tote bag is from Bershka and usually doubles up as a shopping bag. However for a day like this, a rucksack is a better choice. This one hurt my arms dragging it around all day!

To complete the outfit I’m wearing black push-up jeans from Bershka which were €5.99 in sale and fit like a glove.

I find myself wearing these simple white runners from Penneys almost everyday. They are a great basic item that go with every outfit and if you squint a bit they could be Stan Smiths…. 😛

The outfit was perfect for the cold weather and kept me cosy while we strolled around. I hadn’t been to the zoo since primary school (despite the fact I live within 10 mins walk!) and I really enjoyed it.

I actually had my Christmas jumper on underneath this outfit but it was way too cold to show it off! Which is a shame as I consider it quite stylish.

Winter is actually a good time to visit the zoo as it’s not crowded and there are no school tours! That didn’t deter some very excited children from banging on a glass pane at a bewildered gorilla though…

Here are just a few of the gorgeous animals we saw from and you may find them a lot more interesting than my outfit! 😛

orangutangs

alt=

alt=

alt=

I may have developed somewhat of a fixation with monkeys during this trip but how cute are this little troop just chilling by the lake?!

alt=

alt=

The zoo has an amazing array of creatures from orangutans to okapis and everything in between.

The zoo farm is a small section with all the regular farmyard animals, such as goats and cows. Here I embarrassed myself by mistaking a pig for a Shetland pony and a statue of a sheep for a donkey! I think I need to get my eyes tested…

alt=

alt=<bongo deer Dublin zoo>

After the zoo excursion, I headed out to a friend’s birthday in House. Here’s my #OOTN for good measure! I’m wearing a halterneck top with beaded fringing from a charity shop, black leather pants from H&M and my holographic shoes from Missguided.

This may be my final post before Christmas so just hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and thanks for your support throughout the year.

For more zoo photos and possibly some OOTDs, check out my Instagram. Don’t forget you can follow me on Twitter and keep up with the blog on Facebook here. Thanks so much for reading and feel free to leave me a comment below.

Fishnet Frenzy

It may be one of the most bizarre trends of 2016 but fishnet tights underneath jeans are having a sartorial moment. And if someone told me that a year ago, I’d have thought they were certifiably insane!

When I bought a pair of fishnet tights for my Halloween outfit I didn’t think I’d ever be wearing them again. Little did I know…

But with this unseasonably warm weather, there’s never been a better time to try it out! Last week I decided to dig out mine and layer them under baggy Zara jeans with ripped knees.

Halfway to town I shed my coat and scarf, it was ROASTING but at least my legs were cool in the fishnet and rips combo! I may have gotten the odd strange look but not as many as I’d anticipated.

There are several ways to wear fishnets and jeans. They can be layered under loose ripped jeans or pulled up over the waistband of your jeans with a crop top or cropped hoody.

Blue or black jeans in a boyfriend or mom fit work best with this combination.

For a more daring look, jeans with cut-out panels will showcase your fishnets also.

alt=
Fishnets and jeans. Pic: Pinterest.com

You can customise old jeans by ripping them up or chopping out a side panel if you want to experiment with this look.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BOAer_vB42r/?tagged=fishnets

Fishnet socks with runners or loafers are really cute and don’t require you to freeze to death or flash flesh. They look especially good with raw hem or cropped jeans.White fishnet socks are also great with runners.

alt=<black fishnets>
Black fishnet socks with Gucci loafers. Pic: Pinterest.com

A white t-shirt, cropped hoody or long coat all compliment this look. Casual flats or runners are the best accompaniment.

Fishnet tights come in all sizes and colours so don’t feel you have to conform to the bog standard black ones. Red ones look great with blue jeans and white or nude fishnets are more subtle. You can even get embellished crystallized fishnets on Etsy.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BOCM65ZACcy/?tagged=fishnets

My fishnets were €7.99 from H & M but you can get them in most shops. If you’re having trouble finding some, then just hit up Ann Summers you’re bound to get them there!

You can buy fishnet socks and oversize fishnet tights on Asos.com. I really like these as they have a reinforced toe making them less likely to rip.

Fishnets are actually quite versatile and when it gets warmer I’ll be wearing mine with skirts and vintage Levis cut-offs. The downsides are they rip easily, are handwash only and can leave a diamond imprint on your legs and waist!

What do you guys make of this trend? Would you try it out? Leave me a comment below and let me know.

What to wear to a Christmas party: Festive Fashion Edit

Sick of all your dresses?  Contemplating wearing a Christmas jumper to the work do instead? Never fear, I have some Christmas outfit inspiration for you! And it’s not just dresses…

Sparkle always looks great at Christmas whether you choose a glittery accessory or a little sequin number. Glitter, sequins and embellishment are practically a requirement at this time of the year.

Folkster.com always have gorgeous glittery dresses in stock, ideal for a festive celebration.

These pink glittery shoes from Bershka add some festive cheer to any outfit. If you can’t afford to buy an entire new outfit for a Christmas party, these are only €29.99. A new statement accessory is great way to liven up an old outfit.

alt=

Christmas parties are synonymous with donning your best frock but a skirt and top combo can be equally glamorous. These sequin skirts from Pretty Little Thing are festive and fun.

Metallics also look great at Christmas like this patent silver mini from Bershka. This is a fitted skirt so a bodysuit is the best option for underneath.

alt=< silver mini skirt>
Silver miniskirt. Pic: Bershka.com

If you don’t like short skirts or glitzy dresses don’t feel pressured to wear one just for the Christmas party. Wear whatever you feel most confident in whether that’s a playsuit, jumpsuit, culottes or jeans and a top.

Longer skirts can be equally pretty like this sequined midi with tassel details from Zara. It has a side split but is not overly revealing.

alt=

These gorgeous emerald green culottes from Bershka are a lovely satin material and are a loose fit.

alt=

This perfect party top would look great with jeans, black trousers or culottes.

Culotte jumpsuits have been hugely popular this year and this rich burgundy one from Missguided is beautiful.

alt=< burgundy culotte jumpsuit>

Missguided have come up trumps with this simple but elegant green cowl neck dress for €37.50.

alt=

They also have some fab dresses on sale right now. The black velvet and red bodycon dresses below are just €13.50 each!  The metallic plunge neck  one is just €22.50.

For my own Christmas party, I wore this black dress with floral detail and a deep mesh V neck. I actually bought this dress in Catch for €26 and it’s an exact dupe for one I spotted in River Island a couple of months back.

The only issue I had with this dress was the floral appliques are slightly loose in places and may come off!

christmas-outfit
Black dress with floral details
floral-river-island-dress
Floral detail dress River Island. Pic: River Island.com

The only differences are my dress has slightly less floral detail and a lower V neck. The River Island one was about €50-60 as I recall. Both dresses are similar to a Dolce & Gabbana one worn by both Kendall AND Kylie! Who knows, maybe they share clothes too…

Red and green hues, velvet and jewel details are all great for a Christmassy vibe. That said, if you look great in white lace just go for it!

Hope you all enjoyed this post and got some inspiration for a party outfit. Do you like getting dressed up for Christmas?  Leave me a comment below and let me know.

Enjoy the party season and if you have to work over Christmas, you have my sympathies. :/

Tips for buying a great winter coat to suit every budget

With temperatures below zero and Christmas just around the corner, it’s time to invest in a winter coat.

If like me, your current winter coat is the consistency of tissue paper and hanging together by a few threads, then you’ll need a good quality warm coat.

Buying a new coat can be an onerous task. Do you opt for a cosy parka which will provide warmth but isn’t rainproof?

A stylish coat which looks great but has no lining? Or are you tempted by puffer coats but afraid you’ll look like a marshmallow?!

tumblr_mietsgrie61rj0rn6o1_500

When it comes to buying a winter coat, first decide what you need. If you want something exceptionally warm, then get a parka with a detachable fleece lining.

I’ve never been a parka fan as they always come in the same muted boring colours but they do provide warmth.

If you love a pop of colour in your outfit, there are lots of parkas with colourful fur contrasts in shops this year and these are a nice alternative to the traditional parka.

New Look has some super stylish parkas this year with bright fur collars, embroidery details, and even a camouflage parka. These range in price from €69.99-€84.99.

If you are buying online, New Look offers 20% off your first full-price purchase.

Faux fur coats are a great way of retaining your style credentials and keeping cosy at the same time.

Violinkit demonstrates how to style one over on her blog, check it out for inspiration.

alt=
My black faux fur coat from Pretty Little Thing

Shein.com have very affordable faux fur coats on promotion at the moment. The grey is just under €45 and the tan one is just under €28!

alt=

Puffer coats and jackets are also really warm and super stylish this year. If you’re afraid they may look bulky on try some streamlined versions. River Island has an amazing streamlined style in black and pink.

alt=
Pink puffer jacket. Pic: River Island.com

I bought the pink one and it’s super cosy without being bulky.

This was €120 but I got it for €85 using Asos’s 20% Cyber Monday deal and paying in sterling. Check out my Shopping Online Hacks post for more details.

alt=

Boohoo.com are offering 30% off selected winter stock as part of their Cyber Week promotion. But hurry, it’s only until 6 p.m tonight! Use code OHNICE at the checkout.

Among the coats in the promotion are this parka (€61 full price) and this fab military coat (€68 full price).

alt=
Khaki parka. Pic: Boohoo.com
alt=
Black military coat. Pic: Boohoo.com

At all costs, avoid unlined coats, even if it means spending a little more. You don’t want to spend your Christmas nights out shivering wishing you were at home in a onesie!

I’ve made the mistake of buying a coat with a wool-like exterior but only a thin lining. Never again!

If you have the cash for a more expensive coat, go for it. A good quality coat should last a few years. And if you are strapped for cash, then watch out for the sales. Some shops are already reducing winter stock or offering promotions on coats so keep your eyes peeled.

Hope you’ve all enjoyed this post, leave me a comment and let me know.

Deadly Dupes

Calling all trainer fans: Do you love Adidas Originals but don’t have €85 to hand over for one pair of shoes? Do you spend your days salivating over Stan Smiths and Reebok Classics? Here’s how you can get yourself some great dupe runners without breaking the bank.

Ioffer.com is a website which sells replica runners at bargain basement prices. I discovered this site when I saw amazing Adidas Superstar replicas on fellow blogger Jude’s Law Facebok page. You can buy pretty much any kind of runner on this site for a fraction of the price, i.e. Superstars for €16. They also have New Balance, Nike, Converse etc.

o_2016-new-superstar-men-women-running-shoes-sneakers-8d58
Adidas Superstars. Pic: Ioffer.com

There are lots of different sellers operating on here so be sure to check the feedback regarding each one before buying. I haven’t ordered anything from here yet but I intend to soon.

These are probably manufactured in China so don’t expect next day delivery! The site is quite confusing as it lists all styles as mens/womens and there are a lot of generic descriptions and colours that don’t correspond with pictures etc. It’s like Ebay in the sense that you can make an offer to a seller and leave feedback on purchases.

If you like Stan Smiths, then try Penneys. These lookalikes were just €8, about one tenth of the cost of the real thing! Needless to say, Penney’s shoes won’t last as long but if you are broke, they’re the perfect option.

Stradivarius is another option for Stan Smith lookalikes. I particularly like these perforated styles with heel tab details just like Stan Smiths. These are just under €26 and would look great with jeans.

My favourite trainers are Reeboks and I’m loving the gorgeous new colours from gold to pearlized blue. Bershka have gorgeous peachy trainers which are a dead ringer for Reeboks for only €35.99.

bershka-runners

Missguided.com have a great selection of inexpensive runners. Among the ones I liked best are these gold runners which look like a hybrid of Air Max and Reebok and are only €37.50.

Good news if you’re a broke student, Missguided accept UNIDAYS discount so you can get 30% off all full price items also. These also come in silver and look way more expensive than they are.

Asos’s own brand shoe collection is always worth checking out, they have lots of dupe styles including metallic toe runners which are just like Adidas Originals.

Hope you’ve all enjoyed this post, if you know anywhere that sells great dupes leave me a comment and let me know. If you love a good dupe, then be sure to check out my post on dupe bags also.

Leopards never change their spots

If I could describe how wearing leopard print makes me feel in one word, it’d be empowered. From Pat Butcher to Hollywood femme fatales, leopard print has always been a trademark of a strong confident woman.

Some may say it’s trashy, I say it’s sassy. If you too want to feel sassy this winter, then you need to add at least one leopard print piece to your wardrobe.

Being the fashion fortuneteller that I am, I picked up a vintage leopard print blouse in the Tola Vintage kilo sale in Galway. I haven’t worn it yet but now it’s on trend and will look amazing with black jeans and boots.

I’ve styled it with my oversize denim jacket and a Stella McCartney lookalike bag that my housemate kindly brought me back from holidays.

If you feel anxious about wearing leopard print, try a subtle pattern or a leopard print accessory first. Devotees can head straight for the faux fur coats!

These are some of my favourite leopard print lovelies on the high street at the moment. This Topshop belt would look great on blue or black jeans for a subtle leopard print accent.

If you want to go all out, then a leopard coat is the best way to make a statement.

Topshop have this fabulous faux fur one for €125. Definitely the most glamorous way to stay warm on a chilly winter night out !

If that’s completely out of your budget, here are two less expensive options. This brown leopard coat with an oversize collar is €84 from Missguided.

Bershka have a shorter style with a bold print for €59.99.

I also love this delicate leopard print blouse from Bershka. It’s only €19.99 and doubles up as workwear.

River Island have some great leopard print items, including this cosy looking stole which is a great alternative to a woolly scarf.

This biker beaury is courtesy of Zara, I’m dying to get this myself. I’ve seen Niamh Cullen from BehindtheBraids wearing it and it looked stunning on her! It’s not biker season but I digress…

For a daring night out look, I love this bardot playsuit from Missguided, €30.80.

No trend post of mine is complete without a few footwear options naturally. Topshop have great leather ankle boots for just under €100.
